<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve release properties so that a carrier sheet and toner are released from a melting roller immediately after the carrier sheet leaves a nip. <P>SOLUTION: In the melting station for depositing a toner image on a carrier, a melting roller has a Shore A hardness of about 50 to 80, a prescribed outer diameter and an outer coating comprised of a melting roller coating composition made of a fluorocarbon thermoplastic random copolymer having low wettability. The composition comprises the fluorocarbon thermoplastic random copolymer having a tangent delta of about 0.01 to 0.15 and containing an aminosiloxane in an amount of about 5 to 20% of the copolymer on a weight basis and a curing agent having a bisphenol residue in an amount of about 1.5 to 2.5% of the copolymer also on a weight basis. A pressure roller has a smaller outer diameter than the melting roller, is disposed in pressure contact with the melting roller so that a melting nip of about 18 to 22 mm width is formed between the rollers, and has a Shore A hardness of about 25 to 33 and an outer coating consisting of a copolymer composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
