The invention concerns a communication system with integrated services (10) having several spatial zones (cabin 1, cabin 2), in particular for a boat, as well as an adapting and connection device (30, 30') provided therefor. Until now, it was usual to install and maintain, on board ships, separate networks for different services, for example, telephone, air conditioning, video and audio installations or video surveillance systems. The availability of novel services and the connection of other cabins to existing networks constantly brings about increased complexity. The invention aims at solving that problem. Therefor, the invention provides a communication system with integrated services (10) which comprises an IP communication network (20). At least one adapting and connecting device (30, 30') is connected to the IP communication network (20). Said adapting and connecting device (30, 30') associated with a spatial zone (cabin 1, cabin 2) includes a first group of interfaces (40, 50, 120) for connecting non IP systems, as well as a unit (80) for converting messages, supplied by a non IP system into IP data in accordance with an IP communication protocol. An IP address is associated, for example, with the adapting and connecting device (30, 30') via a management system (26). |
