<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material which shows excellent shelf stability before recording and high image keeping quality of a recording part. <P>SOLUTION: The recording material has a recording layer which contains a diazo compound and a chemical compound as shown by general formula (1), formed on a support. In the formula (1), R<SP>11</SP>to R<SP>14</SP>are each hydrogen atom, an alkyl, alkoxy and the like; and R<SP>15</SP>to R<SP>19</SP>are each hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, cyano group, an alkyl, amino group and the like, provided, however, that at least one of R<SP>16</SP>, R<SP>17</SP>and R<SP>18</SP>is a substituent with the Hammett σp value of not more than -0.30.
