Production of a ceramic layer on a substrate comprises mixing a ceramic powder, sol and screen printing carrier to form a screen printing paste, applying on the substrate, heating and sintering to form a ceramic layer, infiltrating with a ceramic sol under cooling to 0[deg] C, and heating and sintering the sol. An independent claim is also included for a screen printing paste used in the above process.
