PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display latest incoming information on a call waiting screen even when a user changes a mail address in a portable telephone set wherein the latest incoming information is displayed on the call waiting picture without any operation when a folding mechanism is opened. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set 1 includes a browser for displaying latest received information on the call waiting picture, and a call waiting picture generation program which is downloaded from a server 2 when operation is started, is resident in the portable telephone set. The program acquires latest information from the server as occasion demands, thereby displaying new information on the call waiting picture at all the time.
