<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processor suitable to automation and to modification according to the content of a document. <P>SOLUTION: The document characteristic quantity of a selected document is calculated on the basis of the document content, a document modification attribute is selected from a plurality of document modification attributes on the basis of the calculated document characteristic quantity, and the selected document is modified according to the selected document modification attribute.
