PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in an information processing unit, such as a portable telephone, etc., usability when image information is imaged, such as, for example, handling of a shutter sound, a character recognition, etc., regarding a display process has been insufficiently discussed, and hence the usability is bad. SOLUTION: In an apparatus for processing information, in the case of a recognition mode for performing a character recognition by using an imaging unit for imaging, for example, the image information, when a shutter is pressed, the shutter sound is erased, and an image part except the character information of an object to be recognized is displayed on a display screen different from before imaging.
