<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment advantageous in excellently transmitting and receiving a radio wave. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment 10 has a plate-like main body 12 having a thickness, a length and a width; a plate-like display unit 14 having a thickness, a length and a width; a hinge mechanism 15 for coupling one end in the lengthwise direction of the body 12 with one end in the lengthwise direction of the display unit 14; a communication section 16; and an antenna 18. The antenna 18 is incorporated in the display unit 14 in an intermediate part of the widthwise direction of the display unit 14 at the other end of the lengthwise direction of the display unit 14 in a state where the lengthwise direction of the antenna 18 is made parallel to the widthwise direction of the display unit 14. When a transmitting signal is supplied to the antenna 18 by the communication section 16, a transmission radio wave is radiated from the antenna 18. Since the antenna 18 is provided on the other end of the lengthwise direction of the display unit 14, the radio wave can be excellently radiated even if both sides or one side in the widthwise direction of the body 12 or the display unit 14 is grasped by hand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
