PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a barrier layer from being released from the adhesive surface of a sheet and thereby obtain a highly reliable head. SOLUTION: In the liquid discharge head, a barrier layer 16 in which ink liquid chambers 12 are patterned is formed on a substrate 14 with heating resistors 13 arranged thereon, a nozzle sheet 17 with a nozzle 18 formed thereon is installed on the barrier layer 16, and at least a part where the nozzle sheet 17 is installed to the barrier layer 16 is coated with a metallic oxide film 19. The metallic oxide film 19 is, for example, a chromium oxide film or a chromium alloy oxide film. In addition, the metallic oxide film 19 is formed on the nozzle sheet 17 by sputtering or the like.
