PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for recording/reproducing optical information, capable of properly forming a recording mark on an optical disk to improve recording quality even when recording is resumed after it is stopped. SOLUTION: Laser emission strength is risen to the level of recording intensity by the timings of t1, t3 and t5. When a laser beam is applied to an optical disk to record information by a pattern risen to release the laser emission strength from the recording intensity by the timings of t2, t4 and t6, if the recording is resumed after it is stopped at t7, the recording is resumed from a position between the t3 and t4. Thus, even at t5 when a laser beam intensity rises from the recording stop position, the rising of the laser beam intensity is not slowed down, and a recording mark is properly formed on the optical disk.
