PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for recording information, capable of accurately recording the information marks of a shortest mark length and a narrow gap even on the recording media of different kinds and future high-speed media by changing a parameter values without changing a basic configuration. SOLUTION: A recording waveform is transformed into a multipulse, a front pulse is delayed by one detection window width from the front edge of a modulated NRZI pulse, and the starting position of a rear pulse is after a timing ahead by one detection window width from the rear edge of the modulated NRZI pulse. The front pulse and the rear pulse are changed based on a gap between the front and the rear and the mark length, and the bottom and top levels of an intermediate pulse are controlled according to a linear velocity and in association. Thermal interferences are reduced, and recording is carried out on a medium compatible to a high linear velocity even at a low speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
