Method for generating a computer programming mapping tool for use in developing applications, whereby parameters (OE1, OE2, OE3) of the user interface of the application are linked with application objects (FO1-FO3) of the application logic of the application program. The mapping tool stores the links and allocations in a mapping descriptor file, preferably in XML format. The file is used when the application program is run to link the functions and properties of the user interface of the application program to the application logic of the application program.
