<p>[PROBLEMS] To break ice in a waterway by a simple structure. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An icebreaker body (16), where an elastic film body (18) is fixed with metallic members on a wall surface (14) of a canal (10), is provided near a gate. When ice (36) is formed near the surface of water (34) in the canal (10), air from a compressor (32) is fed to the elastic film body (18) to swell it. The ice (36) is pressed by the swollen elastic film body (18) and broken, so that the gate can be freely opened and closed.</p> |
