PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which has superior characteristics for large current discharge and in which discharge characteristics after high temperature storage and charge and discharge characteristics under high temperature conditions have been improved. SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte composed of a molten salt, this is provided with at least one kind of cation consisting of chemical formulae 1, 2 or the like and at least dicyanamide anion ([N(CN)2]-). In the formlae, R1, R2, R3, and R4are substituted groups selected from alkyl group, phenyl group, benzyl group or the like having carbon number 8 or less, and R5, R5, R7, and R8are substituted groups selected from alkyl group or the like having carbon number 8 or less.
