PURPOSE: A usage limiting system and a method of a digital camera applied to a portable terminal are provided to automatically supply photographing-prohibited information when a portable terminal enters a photographing-prohibited zone, and to supply a photographing approval signal having a high priority to the terminal, only when a specific authentication value is transmitted to a base station, thereby preventing an illegal photographing action in the photographing-prohibited zone while approving the photographing for an authenticated user only. CONSTITUTION: A base station(20) continuously transmits photographing-prohibited information on a photographing-prohibited zone(10), and supplies photographing approval information via an authentication procedure if a photographing approval request is received. A portable terminal(30) limits an embedded photographing function if the photographing-prohibited information is received, requests a photographing approval by using a specific key combination and an authentication value, and allows a user to photograph while ignoring the photographing-prohibited information in a photographing approval state by receiving the photographing approval information. |
