<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular connector and a hood of simple structure with the small parts number at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A cable connector 11 comprises a rear part 11A and a base part 11B attachable/detachable thereto/therefrom. A support contact 11A2 and a male base contact 11B2 are connected to each other. A cable connector 12 comprises a rear part 12A and a base part 12B attachable/detachable thereto/ therefrom. A support contact 12A2 and a female base contact 12B2 are connected to each other. The cable connector 11 and the cable connector 12 are fitted to each other by inserting a projecting fitting part 11B3 of the base part 11B in a recessed fitting part 12B3 of the base part 12B.
