PURPOSE: A defrost control method of an outdoor heat exchanger is provided to prevent the waste of power for unnecessarily checking heating time or the temperature of a pipe line by deciding a defrost operation regard to the possibility of frost formation. CONSTITUTION: A defrost control method of an outdoor heat exchanger is composed of a first step for starting a heating operation(S1); a second step for stabilizing the system by operating an air conditioner in a heating mode for the predetermined time(S2); a third step for deciding a first defrost condition(S3); a fourth step for deciding a second defrost condition with executing the heating operation(S4); a fifth step for executing a defrost operation if satisfying the second defrost condition(S5); and a sixth step for performing the heating operation for the predetermined time after the defrost operation(S6). The defrost control method returns to the third step after completing the sixth step.
