PURPOSE: To provide a method for calculating temperature correlation coefficient between the respective spots using the measured temperature data values and grasping the flowing state of hot metal between the respective spots after installing thermometers at a plurality of spots on a lower part of blast furnace tap hole and measuring temperature at the spots. CONSTITUTION: The method for judging the flowing state of hot metal in lower part of blast furnace comprises a step of measuring temperature at the respective spots by thermometers installed at a plurality of spots on a lower part of blast furnace tap hole; a step of calculating a correlation coefficient between temperature values measured at the respective spots by the following expression: Rjk=¢²$û(Xijk-Xjk)*(Yijk-Yjk)$ý/£$û¢²(Xijk-Xjk)¬2$ý¬1/2*$û¢²(Yijk-Yjk)¬2$ý¬1/2| where i is temperature data number at certain time intervals, j is the number of thermometers on the lower part of target tap hole, k is the number of thermometers on the lower part of tap hole except the target tap hole, Xijk is hearth bottom temperature data at tap hole except the target tap hole, Xjk is an average value of the Xijk, Yijk is hearth bottom temperature data at the target tap hole, and Yjk is an average value of Yijk; and a step of judging the flowing state of hot metal between the respective spots from the calculated temperature correlation coefficient by the following standard: Rjk¬2<=0.5: the hot metal flowing state is poor, 0.5<Rjk¬2<=0.7: the hot metal flowing state is fair, and Rjk¬2>0.7: the hot metal flowing state is good.
