摘要 PURPOSE: A position detection apparatus of a moving robot and its method are provided to measure distance between a charge unit and the moving robot accurately, using an infrared ray signal and an ultrasonic signal generated in the charge unit. CONSTITUTION: According to the position detection apparatus of a moving robot(200), an infrared ray signal generation unit(101) radiates an infrared ray signal having a peculiar frequency at every angle, as rotating an angle area with a constant speed. A charge unit(100) comprises an ultrasonic oscillation unit(102) oscillating an ultrasonic signal, if the infrared ray signal generation unit reaches a fixed angle. A micro computer(201) receives the infrared ray signal from the infrared ray signal generation unit, and recognizes an angle between the present moving robot and the charge unit, and calculates distance between the present moving robot and the charge unit by receiving the ultrasonic signal oscillation.
