摘要 PURPOSE: A TFT substrate for a multi-domain LCD is provided to minimize the light leakage generated by a stepped difference of signal lines by forming the signal lines in a taper structure with an inclination angle smaller than 30°or in a dual-film structure having an upper film narrower than a lower film, thereby improving a contrast ratio. CONSTITUTION: A TFT substrate for a multi-domain LCD includes gate lines formed on an insulating substrate, and data lines(171) intersecting the first signal lines in insulation for defining pixels. A pixel electrode(190) is formed for each of the pixels with a cutaway part(191-196) for dividing each of the pixel into two parts. TFTs(Thin Film Transistors) are formed in electric connection with the first and second signal lines and the pixel electrodes at three terminals. Maintenance electrode lines(131) are formed on the insulating substrate to intersect the second signal lines. The maintenance electrode lines have control electrodes(31-36) for controlling texture generated in the center of the cutaway parts, wherein the control electrodes overlap the cutaway parts and are respectively a taper structure with an inclination angle smaller than 30°.
