The film (10), of either thermo-shrink or stretch variety, is made with a series of evenly-spaced cuts along its edges (11) that form notches (15) round the circumference of an end aperture that facilitate removal of the film from wrapped items such as cartons (31, 32). The cuts are 5 - 10 mm deep and spaced at intervals of 5 - 15 cm.
