Preparation of a product (A) useful for treating skin diseases comprises: (1) immersing a cloth, a roll or at least part of an article of clothing in a bath of antimicrobial agent based on a solution of a quaternary ammonium compound (I) and a catalyst; (2) polymerization of (I) on the clothing fibers; (3) drying; and (4) optionally dyeing. Alternatively dyeing may be carried out before treatment with (I). An independent claim is also included for a product (A') of silk cord obtained by the process, comprising a garment of overall type (covering the whole body apart from the head and neck), comprising a middle (body) part, two sleeve parts ending in closed glove-like parts, two leg parts ending in closed sock-like parts and openings at the back adjacent to the ends of the arm and leg parts.
