Process for desulfuration of petrols by fractionation followed by treatments of the light and heavy fractions consisting of adsorption/desorption and hydrodesulfurization stages respectively

Production of a petrol of low sulfur content and high octane index from an initial petrol cut comprising olefins and thiophenic compounds. The process is carried out in stages of (1) distillation of the initial product to give two fractions, a fraction containing thiophene and of final boiling point 70-200[deg]C, and a heavy fraction containing heavy S compounds; (2) elimination of the thiophenic compounds from the light fraction by adsorption on a solid adsorbent; (3) treatment of the heavy fraction in conditions of hydrodesulfurization.
