The rod has a remote zone (5), and a proximal zone (3) provided with traversing orifices (9-11) for passage of encircling cables to fix the rod to larger trochanter of the femur. A support girdle (6) separates the zone (3) from a diaphyseal zone (4). The upper and lower sides (7, 7), at the level of the zone (3), are situated in the same plane as that of the zone (4) in the larger section of the zone (3).
