PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic ejection ink jet head which requires small voltage for ink ejection, has only a small fear of electric discharge, electric leakage, etc., and stably carries out high-definition printing at high speed. SOLUTION: The electrostatic ejection ink jet head has a head substrate, first and second driving electrodes formed as a double-layer electrode structure for every individual electrode, an ink guide arranged on the head substrate for the individual electrode, and an insulating substrate having a through hole formed therein at a location corresponding to the arrangement of the ink guide for the individual electrode. The first driving electrode is arranged on one side of an ink channel closer to the insulating substrate while the second driving electrode on one side of the first driving electrode closer to the head substrate, and homopolar voltage is applied to both the first and second driving electrodes, whereby the ink jet head is controlled so as to eject or not to eject the ink depending on the voltage superimposed thereon.
