A telephone apparatus stores areas, in which other ends of communication currently exist, in a column of area numbers (112) of a personal information table (110), and calculates and displays the local times of the areas indicated by corresponding area information. Thus, the telephone apparatus can appropriately display the local times of the areas where other ends of communication currently exist. Moreover, the corresponding area information can be updated in accordance with user's operations and/or a usage area notifications from the other ends of communication. Therefore, if the other end of communication moves and the corresponding area information is updated accordingly, then the local time of the area where the other end of communication currently exists can be precisely displayed in any time.
