<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the determination processing time of a specific original by simplifying the construction of a specific original determining section for performing determination processing for both sides of an original substantially simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: A first reading section 19 reads the image of the first surface of an original to provide first color image data. A first color converting section 43 standardizes the first color image data into image data in a predetermined color space to provide second standardized color image data. A second reading section 27 reads the image of the second surface of the original to provide second color image data. A second color converting section 49 standardizes the second color image data into image data in the predetermined color space to provide second standardized color image data. A dictionary 54a stores image data of the specific original.
