PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging lens for a compact solid image pickup device which is small in load of a focus drive and is good in optical performance from infinite photographing to short-distance photographing. SOLUTION: The imaging lens which forms an image on the solid state image pickup device consists of, successively from an object side, a front group GrF and a rear group GrR. The front group GrF consists of only the biconcave lens having an aspherical surface, and the rear group GrR has positive power as a whole and includes an aperture-stop ST.
