PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment method by which the vibration damping capacity of a manganese based twin crystal type high vibration damping alloy can sufficiently be improved. SOLUTION: In the heat treatment method where a manganese based twin crystal type high vibration damping alloy is heated and is annealed, the manganese based twin crystal high vibration damping alloy is heated at 800 to 1,100°C, and thereafter, only fixed speed annealing is performed at 0.85 to 1.65°C/min, or fixed speed annealing is performed at 0.85 to 1.65°C/min to the temperature range of 475 to 250°C, and further, rapid cooling is performed at≥10°C/min.
