PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven stapler wherein the angle at the time of standby of moving clinchers is made large even without enlarging the stroke of a clincher link. SOLUTION: The motor-driven stapler is arranged so that sheet-form staples stacked in a cartridge 2 are fed one after another from the lowermost or the uppermost one to a feed passage 20; the staples are processed into gate shape by a punching part one after another in the sequence from the forefront one; the shaped staple is driven by a driver plate 5 so as to penetrate the materials to be stapled; and the legs 36 of each staple having penetrated are folded by the moving clinchers 11. The moving clinchers 11 to receive the legs on both sides of the staple are borne by shaft between two supporting plates arranged in front and behind in such a way as confronting and are rotated upon engagement with a clincher link 12 actuated toward the driving side from opposite the driving side of the staple, and the link is furnished with a runoff part 42 for avoiding engagement with the forefront parts of the clinchers 11 at the time of actuation.
