<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly connect two sounds natural in a legato musical performance. <P>SOLUTION: This waveform selecting device is so configured that if another musical sound is generated when a detecting circuit 15 detects a key being released, waveform data 17b for muting are not read out of a waveform data memory 17.
