PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device capable of enhancing strength of a frame and preventing floating of a sheet due to deformation, and a reading device provided with the carrying device. SOLUTION: In this carrying device, the sheet is carried by a carrier means. The device has front side plate 34 and rear side plate 36 arranged on both sides of a carrying direction of the sheet to support a member such as a carrier roller, a stay 35 for connecting the front side plate 34 and the rear side plate 36, and a skeleton part 32 arranged in parallel to the stay 35, passing through at least one of the front side plate 34 and the rear side plate 36 and fixed to the stay 35.
