PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency operating device for an elevator reducing private power generation power capacity and battery capacity when using an elevator for refuge in case of fire. SOLUTION: This elevator has car and balance weight. This device is provided with a control means for operating the elevator only when weight of the car is lighter than weight of the balance weight when performing a lifting operation of the car from a ground floor to a rescue floor and operating the elevator only when the weight of the car is heavier than the weight of the balance weight when performing a lowering operation of the car from the rescue floor to the ground floor, when performing a rescue operation by power supply for emergency in an emergency such as a power failure, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
