<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve non-compatibility of colors and collapse of gradation due to change of printing media, and to create a printer profile to prevent deterioration in quality. <P>SOLUTION: A color chart is printed on a printing medium with a printer 6, and then density of the color chart is measured with a measure 5. In a server 2, based on measured density data received via a client PC 3 and data on a standard printing medium, characteristics of the printing medium are determined. Lattice point values of a printer profile to be a standard for the printing medium is calculated on the basis of the determined characteristics and lattice point values of a printer profile of the standard printing medium. Next, based on the lattice point values of the printer profile, lattice point values of the printer profile to meet printing conditions are calculated.
