PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an appropriate application automatically depending on the situation of a communication path in a mobile communication terminal, e.g. a portable telephone or a portable information terminal, which can utilize a plurality of communication paths of wireless LAN, portable telephone communication, and the like. SOLUTION: A communication path judging section 5 detects an available communication path through each communication interface 2-4, and acquires information (e.g. communication speed) concerning the communication interface of a detected communication path. Based on the communication interface, an application judging section 6 determines an application to be started among application groups 7-9 and starts an application thus determined.
