A first reservoir member (12) of an ink cartridge reservoir (10), the first reservoir member (12) including a first portion (12a) formed of a thermoplastic that is one of absorbent of and transparent to radiant thermal energy (20), and configured to be welded to a second reservoir member (14), and a second portion (12b) formed of a thermoplastic having a characteristic different than the first portion (12a). The characteristic is the colour which is the same as that of the colour ink contained in the ink cartridge reservoir.
