<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material showing excellence in handling, mechanical properties (compression strength in particular) and dimensional accuracy, a reinforced fiber base material enabling production of the composite material in good productivity, and their manufacturing methods. <P>SOLUTION: The reinforced fiber base material is composed of at least a group of reinforcing fibers obtained by paralleling continuous reinforcing fibers in one direction in parallel. At least one surface of the reinforced fiber base material has 2 to 15wt.% of a resin material mainly composed of a thermoplastic resin, and a volume fraction Vpf of the reinforcing fibers calculated from the thickness of the reinforced fiber base material measured according to JIS-R7602 is 40 to 60%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
