PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color discrimination method whereby a color discrimination region is set to a prescribed color discrimination region in response to a method of reading an original so as to discriminate a color with high accuracy without the need for troublesome adjustments. SOLUTION: The color discrimination method includes a step S1607 of setting the color discrimination region for discriminating whether or not an original includes a chromatic color to a prescribed color discrimination region in response to the method of reading the original; a step S1608 of reading the original; and a step S 1609 of discriminating whether or not the set color discrimination region includes the chromatic color.
