PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antimicrobial composition for preventing various industrial materials and products including plastics like polyvinyl chloride, emulsion coatings, oily coatings, adhesives, sealants, inks, lumbers, leathers and fibers from being deteriorated or putrefied by microbes including bacteria, yeast, mycelia and algae. SOLUTION: The antimicrobial composition comprises (A) 2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, (B) a bis(2-pyridylthio-1-oxido) zinc salt and (C) a benzimidazole-based compound as active ingredients.
