The device consists of a hydropneumatic spring unit with spring and damper element, and a compressed gas bottle (1) for the gas volume (13a) from the gas spring. The gas volume heated or cooled relative to the ambient temperature, by an electric pre-heating element (2), which is incorporated in the hydropneumatic element and projects into the gas volume. The gas bottle has an adapter block (3) connected to the heater and an gas filling connection (4). Alternatively, the pre-heating unit may be a special material jacket around the bottle, e.g. of zeolite. This generates heat when moisture is present, discharges the moisture when heated, and is able to store heat energy in a crystalline form.
