PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless receiver capable of preventing divergence of a discrimination feedback type equalizer, and also capable of quickly recovering from a frame asynchronous state at divergence of the discrimination feedback type equalizer. SOLUTION: The operation of a discrimination feedback type equalizer is controlled by using a residual phase error of a bit timing regenerative circuit, so that divergence of the discrimination feedback type equalizer generated in response process of the bit timing regenerative circuit is prevented. It is used as resetting condition of the discrimination feedback type equalizer that the output power from a feedforward part of the discrimination feedback type equalizer comes to be a specified value or below. So, the unwanted resetting is prevented when the discrimination feedback type equalizer is not diverged for quick recovery from a frame asynchronous condition while the discrimination feedback type equalizer is diverged.
