PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the electric resistance member of an image-forming device for maintaining improved images without generating transfer faults, such as transfer shortage, even after a long-term use. SOLUTION: A belt that is determined on the basis of the variation characteristics of resistivity in a continuous voltage application period is used for a middle transfer belt 10 in the image-forming device. Specifically, in surface resistivityρs, the absolute valueΔρs of the amount of change in the surface resistivity from two to 100 seconds after voltage starts to be applied in measurement by applying 500 [V] should be equal to or smaller than 0.3 [Log(Ω/square)]. In volume resistivityρv, the absolute valueΔρv of the amount of change in volume resistivity from two to 100 seconds after voltage starts to be applied in measurement by applying 200 [V] should be 0.5 [Log(Ωcm)] or smaller.
