PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vitrified grinding wheel which realizes desirable surface properties in machining a cast iron material or the like by solving a problem of clogging of the vitrified grinding wheel used for honing or superfinishing using a water soluble oil. SOLUTION: The porous vitrified grinding wheel with abrasive grains bonded with a calcinated ceramic bonding material is formed as a vitrified grinding wheel with pores containing organic wax formed of carnauba wax or the like with a fusing point of 75°C or higher, a hardness of 100-120 (Rockwell durometer, test load of 98.1 N, an indication numerical value of dial B (red characters)), a transverse rupture strength of 10-20 MPa and the bending modulus of elasticity of 300-500 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>, preferably for honing or superfinishing using the water soluble cutting oil.
