The invention relates to a method for inspecting terminals connected by crimping. The method consists, rather than carrying out a visual inspection, in taking contour images of the crimped terminals and in exploring these images in order to obtain the necessary data. These data are processed in such a way as to decide automatically whether to accept or reject the terminals. The invention applies especially to mass production of cablings. <IMAGE>
