OILLESS LINEAR COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oilless linear compressor with a piston free from wear at the early stage of starting operation while reducing the leakage of gas from a gas bearing when stopped. SOLUTION: A gas bearing device 117 is formed between a cylinder 106 and the piston 107, and a high pressure gas supply device 120 is provided for supplying high pressure gas to the gas bearing device 117 before starting a linear motor 104. Thus, the high pressure gas stored on a high pressure side can be supplied to the gas bearing device 117 even when no sufficient high pressure gas exists in a compression chamber 114 at the early stage of starting operation and the leakage of the high pressure gas from the gas bearing is prevented when an on-off valve 121 installed in the high pressure gas supply device 120 is stopped.
