PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling channels of a digital TV receiver are provided to allow a user to select a desired channel from audio-dedicated channels conveniently by constructing the audio-dedicated channels in a juke box OSD(On Screen Display) in a matrix form. CONSTITUTION: A digital TV channel control apparatus includes an OSD generator(204), a demultiplexer(103), a detector(201), a controller(202), and a video processor(106). The OSD generator generates images used for setting a juke box menu and other menus in the form of OSD. The demultiplexer separates a video signal, an audio signal and additional information from a broadcasting signal received through a tuner(101) of a digital TV receiver. The detector detects whether the broadcasting signal includes an audio-dedicated channel. The controller controls channel setting in response to whether a user sets the juke box menu when the detector detects the audio-dedicated channel. The video processor displays a video signal input when a channel is shifted or processes the juke box menu into a signal to be displayed on a screen in response to a control signal of the controller. |
