摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion device for a hybrid type ship having both a gas turbine and a diesel engine as a main engine of the ship, for adjusting the output of the diesel engine and properly controlling the speed of the ship while continuously keeping the high output and high efficiency of operation of the gas turbine during cruise, to maintain high fuel consumption efficiency and to improve ship steering performance. SOLUTION: The gas turbine 1 and a first power generator 2 driven by the gas turbine 1 are provided at a bow, and the diesel engine 1A and a second power generator 2A driven by the diesel engine 1A are provided thereat. A propeller-driving power generator 5 receives the supply of electric power from both the power generators 2, 2A to operate. The high output (rated output) and high efficiency of the gas turbine 1 are kept during navigation, and the ship speed is adjusted by increasing/decreasing the output of the diesel engine 1A.
