摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical alignment mode liquid crystal device with which a bright and high contrast display can be obtained. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device is equipped with a TFT (thin film transistor) array substrate 10 with a plurality of pixel electrodes 9 aligned and formed thereon, a counter substrate 20 placed opposite to the TFT array substrate 10, and a liquid crystal layer 50 interposed between both substrates 10, 20. The liquid crystal layer is constituted by containing a liquid crystal exhibiting negative dielectric anisotropy and a polymer dispersed body (polymer) oriented and dispersed in the liquid crystal. The liquid crystal device is constituted so as to have a high concentration region 55 with relatively high concentration of the polymer arranged in the flat face region of each of the pixel electrodes.
