To join knitted sections together, at a flatbed knitter, the first section is knitted, with the stitches at the junction edge left hanging on the needles. At least one further section is knitted, and the needles with the hung stitches of the first section are reactivated at the join between the two sections. Preferably at least the section is a knitted tube, where initially one side is knitted, and the final row is joined with the first row of a multi-layer knit on at least two needle beds, and then separated for knitting again on two needle beds, and finally knitted together. The first section is knitted on the first needle bed, with the edges of the junction row left hanging on the needles. |
