PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the return control device for an electric power steering which reduces various physical disorder feelings generated when the return control of the steering wheel is carried out. SOLUTION: This return control device for an electric power steering is composed to discriminate that a steering wheel is in the return condition when the rotating direction of an assist motor 40 and the input direction of the steering torque are different in the driving condition of the assist motor 40, by a polarity discriminating means 53, by a specific assist instruction value decided by the output of the torque sensor 20 of the steering wheel, and the output of a car speed sensor 30, and to improve the return property by adding the return instruction value decided by the output of the car speed sensor 30, to the assist instruction value. In this case, when the output value of the torque sensor 20 is more than a specific value or less than a specific value, a limiter outputting no return instruction value is provided, and when the rotation frequency of the assist motor 40 is less than a specific value or more than a specific value, either one of motor limiters outputting no return instruction value is provided. |
